Nolimit City is a slot studio founded in 2014 and owned by Evolution since August 2022. It makes high-volatility video slots such as Mental, Tombstone RIP and San Quentin xWays, built around its own trademarked features, which it calls xMechanics. It does not run a casino: it supplies its games to licensed operators.
This review explains who is behind the studio, what each xMechanic actually does, the official stats of the best Nolimit City slots, the RTP versions a casino can pick, stakes, licences, its deliberately dark themes and how to try a Nolimit City demo safely. Figures come from the studio’s game pages, Evolution’s games site, releases and 2025 annual report, and the MGA and UKGC registers, checked on 18 October 2026.
Short answer: a properly licensed and genuinely inventive studio that publishes more maths per game than most studios we review: RTP, hit frequency, the max win and, on newer titles, the odds of hitting it. The trade-off is risk. Many Nolimit City games are rated Extreme volatility, max wins reach 500,000x and some titles pay nothing on small wins. Play with a fixed budget, or skip them if that sounds stressful.

Who Is Nolimit City? Founders, Offices and Evolution Ownership
Evolution gives 2014 as the year Nolimit City was established. The studio’s own blog dates its first game, Creepy Carnival, to 2015, in a post quoting co-founder and CTO Jonas Tegman. Some review sites say 2013. We found no primary source giving that year, although the 2015 post quotes Tegman saying the studio’s “first few years” went into building its platform.
The licensed company is Nolimit City Limited (company number C 54001), registered at Spinola Park in St Julian’s, Malta. Evolution describes the business as based in Malta, Sweden, India and Romania, and its 2025 annual report lists six group companies for the studio, all 100% owned. Neither source names a current CEO or gives a headcount. Malcolm Mizzi spoke for the studio as COO and Commercial Director in June 2024.
Evolution itself sums the studio up as standing out for “high-volatility games, daring style, and complex mechanics” (Annual Report 2025).
The Evolution Deal: โฌ200 Million Upfront, Earn-Outs Revised
On 22 June 2022 Evolution announced it would buy 100% of Nolimit City Holding Ltd for โฌ200 million upfront, cash and debt free, plus earn-outs of up to โฌ140 million tied to the studio’s EBITDA for 2022 to 2024. That made a maximum of โฌ340 million. Evolution expected the studio’s 2022 revenue at about โฌ30 million, with EBITDA of about โฌ23 million. The deal completed on 8 August 2022.
The earn-out did not run as first written. Evolution’s 2025 annual report says that in 2024 it extended the earn-out period to 2026 and cut the liability by โฌ91.4 million, leaving โฌ34.3 million (present value at the end of 2024) that “may be paid at the latest in 2027”. It then paid โฌ11.2 million in 2025 and about โฌ11.1 million in the first half of 2026. A separate โฌ59.7 million reduction reported in 2024 belongs to Big Time Gaming, not Nolimit City. The final total paid has not been published.
The studio now sits alongside NetEnt, Red Tiger and Big Time Gaming in the slot side of Evolution, and operators can add its games through Evolution’s One Stop Shop integration, which it joined in 2022.

Nolimit City Slots and Games: What the Catalogue Includes
Nolimit City games are video slots, the format covered on our slots page. As of 18 October 2026 the studio’s site had 144 game pages: 140 released titles and four with future dates. Older sites quote 80, 132 or 138 games because the catalogue keeps growing. Through 2025 and 2026 new releases have usually arrived on a Tuesday, about two weeks apart.
As a slot games provider, it builds Nolimit City slot games in several formats: fixed ways, variable reel heights and a few cluster or avalanche titles (The Border, DJ Psycho and Pearl Harbor).

Does Nolimit City Make Live Casino or Table Games?
No live dealer or table games appear among the studio’s 144 game pages, and we found no bingo or scratch cards either. Within the group, live casino is the job of its owner, Evolution. If you want Nolimit City casino games, you are looking for slots.
Bonus Buy, Megaways and Jackpots
- Bonus buy (Nolimit Bonus): 120 of the 144 official game pages show a feature buy. Titles released before Punk Rocker (February 2020) generally do not; every released game since then shows one. The studio’s pages say it may be removed in some regulated markets, and UK reviewers report that it is not offered to UK players. Buying a bonus costs a fixed multiple of your stake and can burn through a budget very quickly.
- No Megaways: in its 100-games post the studio wrote, “We never dated Megaways”. Within Evolution, the Megaways trademark belongs to Big Time Gaming.
- No progressive jackpots: we found none on the 144 game pages. Immortal Fruits (2020) has a Jackpot xWheel with fixed prizes, Rapid at 100x, Midi at 250x and Mega at 2,500x the bet, which do not grow over time like a progressive pool.
- Side Hustle (June 2026): optional side bets on outcomes you predict before a spin, such as a feature landing. The studio says the cost and payout depend on the probability of that outcome.
Nolimit City Stakes: Minimum and Maximum Bets
The studio’s game pages show a bet range in euros. Of the 140 released games, 118 start at โฌ0.20 and 118 top out at โฌ100. Fourteen start at โฌ0.10, including Tombstone R.I.P, Deadwood R.I.P and Tombstone Slaughter; Starstruck and Gaelic Gold start at โฌ0.05, and Book of Shadows at โฌ1. A few go higher: Whacked! lists โฌ400, and Blood & Shadow, Nine To Five, Brick Snake 2000, Outsourced and Flight Mode list โฌ280.
Casinos set their own limits within that range, and regulators cap them further. According to the UK Gambling Commission, online slot stakes are limited to ยฃ5 per game cycle for players aged 25 and over (since 9 April 2025) and ยฃ2 for players aged 18 to 24 (since 21 May 2025). The higher maximums above are therefore not available at UKGC-licensed casinos.
| Game | Min bet | Max bet |
|---|---|---|
| Mental | โฌ0.20 | โฌ70 |
| Tombstone R.I.P | โฌ0.10 | โฌ50 |
| Tombstone Slaughter: El Gordo's Revenge | โฌ0.10 | โฌ100 |
| San Quentin xWays | โฌ0.20 | โฌ32 |
| Fire In The Hole | โฌ0.20 | โฌ50 |
| Deadwood R.I.P | โฌ0.10 | โฌ100 |
| Blood & Shadow 2 | โฌ0.20 | โฌ100 |
Nolimit City Mobile: Phones and Tablets
Every official game page lists HTML5 technology with both desktop and mobile support, in a 16:9 format. That means Nolimit City online slots run in a phone browser or inside a casino app without a download from the studio. We found no separate player app from the studio, and a Nolimit City mobile casino is simply a licensed casino whose mobile site carries the games.
We have not run our own device tests. Busy features such as xBomb explosions and split symbols are easier to follow on a larger screen, so try a game in demo mode on your phone before you stake money.
xMechanics Explained: The Glossary
“xMechanics” is the studio’s name for its in-house features. It says it has more than 19 of them, and most are trademarked (xWays, xNudge, xSplit, xBomb, xRIP, xGod, xLoot and Infectious xWays carry a registered mark). They are the main reason its slots feel different, and the main reason new players get confused. In August 2025 the studio licensed its xMechanics to Sneaky Slots, Evolution’s new slot studio, for use in that studio’s games.
The table paraphrases the studio’s own definitions from its July 2026 “xMechanics Explained” post, FAQ and game pages. The last column counts how many of the 144 official game pages list each mechanic.
| xMechanic | What it does | Example game | Game pages using it |
|---|---|---|---|
| xNudge | A Wild nudges up or down until it fills its reel; each nudge adds +1 to its multiplier | Outsourced 2: Balkan Engineering | 50 |
| xBet (Nolimit Booster) | An optional extra cost per spin for a better chance of reaching the bonus modes; symbol payouts stay the same | Tombstone R.I.P, Dead Canary | 48 |
| xWays | A mystery symbol reveals a stack of one matching symbol, adding ways to win | Catfish Hunters | 46 |
| xSplit | Splits every symbol to its left in two, then turns Wild; Reel xSplit splits a whole reel | Crazy Ex-Girlfriend | 39 |
| xTra Spin | After a bonus round, offers to sell you one more spin that keeps the multipliers | Tombstone Begins | 24 |
| xGod (God Mode) | A standalone feature, available to buy, that can pay the game's full max win on its own | Supersized (first used in Nine To Five) | 19 |
| xBomb | An exploding Wild clears adjacent symbols (not Bonus symbols) and adds +1 to the multiplier for the next collapse | True Grit Redemption 2 | 17 |
| Infectious xWays | Like xWays, but copies of the revealed symbol already on the reels expand too | Duck Hunters | 14 |
| xRIP | If a spin's total win is below the base stake, nothing is paid | Tombstone R.I.P | 4 |
| xCluster | In cluster or avalanche games, +1 multiplier for each unique winning cluster from the second one onward in the same avalanche | The Border | 3 |
| xHole | Sucks in main-reel symbols, spits them out as split symbols of size 2 to 8, then turns Wild | Flight Mode (debuted in Kenneth Must Die) | 3 |
| xZone | Adds +1 multiplier to every paying symbol and Wild touching it, diagonals included | Skate or Die | 3 |
| xLoot / xGlitch | Moving characters collect symbols of their colour; xGlitch can repeat avalanches of feature symbols 4 to 50 times | Tanked 3: First Blood 2 | 2 / 1 |
| xSize | Expands the active reel area | Misery Mining | 1 |
| xMental | Unleashes the game's other xMechanics in a single spin | Mental II | 1 |
| xCap | If a win passes the game's max payout, may multiply it by up to 10x | Rock Bottom | 1 |
| xPays | A re-spin triggered by adjacent symbols on the first three reels; non-winning symbols vanish and wins multiply the collected symbol values | Monkey's Gold xPays | Not tagged in game data (studio FAQ only) |
Two related ideas sit outside the table. The Nolimit Cap in Kenneth Must Die lets you choose between the default 69,000x max win or a 10,000x cap with more frequent features. Enhanced bets through xBet change the cost of a spin, so a 10p stake with a booster switched on is no longer a 10p stake. Check the bet panel before every session.
Best Nolimit City Slots: Official Stats Compared
We picked the studio’s best-known slots plus its latest flagships, so you can compare the best Nolimit City online slots on the same footing. “Best” is an editorial label, not a quality ranking: a higher max win means a harder game, not a better one. All figures come from the studio’s own game pages; “max-win odds” is its published chance of hitting the max win. RTP versions and volatility labels are in the RTP section below.
| Game | Released | Max win | Max-win odds |

How Often Do Nolimit City Bonuses Land?
Each game page also lists a hit frequency (the share of spins that pay anything) and a free-spins frequency written as “1 in N” spins. These are theoretical averages. Most of the games below trigger free spins about once every 200 to 300 spins. Blood & Shadow 2 is the outlier, printed at 1 in 18, with a much lower 16,161x ceiling.
| Game | Hit rate | Free spins |
|---|---|---|
| Mental | 34.19% | 1 in 216 |
| Tombstone R.I.P | 9.08% | 1 in 194 |
| Tombstone Slaughter: El Gordo's Revenge | 9.39% | 1 in 258 |
| San Quentin xWays | 34.25% | 1 in 230 |
| San Quentin 2: Death Row | 26.9% | 1 in 299 |

| Fire in the Hole 3 | 22.18% | 1 in 231 |
| Dead Canary | 26.2% | 1 in 197 |
| Blood & Shadow 2 | 27.14% | 1 in 18 |
| Mental II | 31.41% | 1 in 249 |
Mental Slot by Nolimit City
The Mental slot from Nolimit City is the game most players name first. Evolution describes its setting as a mental institute with a sepia, horror-film look. Reel heights run from three to five rows, and the official feature list combines xWays, xSplit and xNudge. The max win is 66,666x, which the studio puts at roughly 1 in 18 million spins.
Watch the RTP: the studio page shows 96.08%, but Evolution lists a 94.20% version too. Mental II (March 2025) raises the max win to 99,999x and adds xGod and xMental, the feature that fires several xMechanics in one spin.
Tombstone RIP: Nolimit City's Most Extreme Western
Tombstone RIP (styled Tombstone R.I.P on the studio’s site) took the 2019 Western Tombstone and pushed the maths much further. Its 300,000x max win comes with a studio-published chance of about 1 in 130 million spins and a hit rate of 9.08%, so roughly nine spins in ten pay nothing.
It is also the showcase for xRIP, which here is switched on through the optional xBet. With xRIP active, any spin whose total win is below your base stake pays nothing. The studio’s own RTP notes give 96.28% (or 94.25% on the reduced version) with the enhanced bet. In January 2025 Tombstone Slaughter: El Gordo’s Revenge followed with a 500,000x max win.
Deadwood Slot by Nolimit City: xNudge and R.I.P Versions
If you searched for the Deadwood slot by Nolimit City, there are two. Deadwood xNudge (May 2020) is the gentler one by the studio’s standards: a 40.17% hit rate and a 13,950x max win, though Evolution still labels it Extreme. Like Fire In The Hole, it comes in three RTP versions: 96.03%, 94.15% and 90.12%.
Deadwood R.I.P (June 2024) is a different beast: a 100,000x max win at a published 1 in 150 million, an 8.29% hit rate, and xRIP built into the game by default rather than as an option.
San Quentin and Fire in the Hole
San Quentin xWays (January 2021) is set in a maximum-security prison, with a bounty of up to 150,000x in its Psycho Manhunt feature, per Evolution. Its sequel San Quentin 2: Death Row carries the highest volatility index we saw on the studio’s site (168.72) and a 200,000x max win.
Fire In The Hole (March 2021) is built around xBomb, on a grid that expands from 6×3 to 6×6, per Evolution. The 2024 sequel adds xSplit, and Fire in the Hole 3 adds xGod and xHole. Fire in the Hole 4 is scheduled for 17 November 2026.
Dead Canary by Nolimit City: Release, RTP and Max Win
Dead Canary, Nolimit City’s release of 20 December 2022, lists a 96.02% RTP, a 26.2% hit rate, free spins about 1 in 197 spins and a 65,000x max win at roughly 1 in 7 million. Evolution’s games site also lists a 94.12% version, so check the rules at your casino. The reels use a 3-4-3-4-3-4 layout, which works out at up to 1,728 ways (3 x 4 x 3 x 4 x 3 x 4). Its features are xBomb and the optional xBet, and Evolution rates it Extreme volatility.
Blood & Shadow 2 vs Blood & Shadow: What Changed
Blood & Shadow 2 (22 October 2024) moves to a 5×5 grid that, per the studio’s game page, grows from 1,024 to 3,125 ways to win, and it uses xSplit and the optional xBet. It lists a single 96.09% RTP, a 27.14% hit rate and a 16,161x max win at roughly 1 in 3.3 million.
The original Blood & Shadow (7 March 2023) lists 96.13%, with a 94.03% version on Evolution’s site, a 4×5 grid and a 6,666x max win. The sequel’s ceiling is about 2.4 times higher.
Best Nolimit City Games by Player Type
Pick by the kind of risk you can live with, not by the biggest max win.
| If youโฆ | Try | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Want to learn xMechanics without the harshest maths | Deadwood xNudge | 40.17% hit rate and a 13,950x cap; one mechanic to learn (but check the RTP version) |
| Want the studio's signature horror slot | Mental | xWays, xSplit and xNudge together, 66,666x max win, High volatility per Evolution |
| Like cascading explosions | Fire In The Hole or Dead Canary | xBomb Wilds clear symbols and build a multiplier between collapses |
| Prefer a lower ceiling and more frequent bonuses | Blood & Shadow 2 | 16,161x max win, 27.14% hit rate, free spins printed at 1 in 18 |
| Fully accept very long dry spells | Tombstone R.I.P or Deadwood R.I.P | Hit rates around 8โ9% and xRIP can wipe small wins |

Nolimit City RTP: Versions, Max-Win Odds and How to Check
RTP (return to player) is the share of all stakes a slot is designed to pay back over millions of spins. On Nolimit City RTP transparency, the studio does better than most we have reviewed: every game page shows a headline RTP, a hit frequency, a free-spins frequency, the max win and, for most newer titles, the published odds of hitting that max win. Recent releases sit between 95.94% and 96.20%.
The catch is that the headline is the top setting. Evolution’s games site lists lower versions for many of the studio’s older games, and the studio’s own notes mention reduced versions for games such as Tombstone R.I.P, The Border and Road Rage. The casino, not you, chooses which version it runs.
| Game | RTP versions | Volatility | Gap on ยฃ1,000 staked (theoretical) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mental | 96.08% / 94.20% | High | About ยฃ19 |
| Tombstone R.I.P | 96.08% / 94.08% | Extreme | About ยฃ20 |
| Tombstone Slaughter: El Gordo's Revenge | 96.00% (Evolution: 96.01%) | Extreme | Single version listed |
| San Quentin xWays | 96.03% / 94.11% | High | About ยฃ19 |
| San Quentin 2: Death Row | 96.13% | Extreme | Single version listed |
| Deadwood xNudge | 96.03% / 94.15% / 90.12% | Extreme | Up to about ยฃ59 |
| Deadwood R.I.P | 96.09% (studio) | Not listed by Evolution | Single version listed |
| Fire In The Hole | 96.06% / 94.11% / 90.02% | Extreme | Up to about ยฃ60 |
| Fire in the Hole 3 | 96.05% (Evolution: 96.04%) | Extreme | Single version listed |
| Dead Canary | 96.02% / 94.12% | Extreme | About ยฃ19 |
| Blood & Shadow | 96.13% / 94.03% | Extreme | About ยฃ21 |
| Blood & Shadow 2 | 96.09% | Extreme | Single version listed |
| Mental II | 96.06% | Extreme | Single version listed |
On ยฃ1,000 of total stakes, Mental’s top version is designed to return about ยฃ961 on average and its lower version about ยฃ942. These are long-run averages: one session can end far above or below either number, and the house keeps an edge on every version. Most 2024 to 2026 titles show a single RTP on both the studio’s site and Evolution’s, but that does not guarantee every casino runs it.
Volatility is harder to read. The studio shows a number (Mental 29.93, Tombstone R.I.P 66.85, San Quentin 2: Death Row 168.72) without explaining the scale, while Evolution uses words such as High and Extreme. The two cannot be compared directly.
How to Check Which RTP Version a Nolimit City Slot Is Running
-
Step 1
Open the Nolimit City slot at the casino where you plan to play. The version is set per casino, so a figure seen elsewhere may not apply.
-
Step 2
Before spinning, open the game menu and find the paytable, game rules or information screen.
-
Step 3
Look for the stated RTP or return to player. Some games list separate figures for enhanced bets or bonus buys; note the one for the way you intend to play.
-
Step 4
Compare it with the top version in our table, for example 96.08% for Mental. A figure around 94% or 90% means the casino runs a lower version.
-
Step 5
If it is lower, check the same game at another licensed casino or ask support which version they use. If you cannot find any figure, ask before you play.
Extreme Volatility, Huge Max Wins and Playing Safely
A 500,000x max win sounds life-changing, but the studio itself puts Tombstone Slaughter’s at roughly 1 in 189 million spins. At odds like these, almost no player will ever hit a max win. Low hit rates, such as 8.29% on Deadwood R.I.P, mean long runs of empty spins are normal, not a sign that a win is “due”. Every spin is independent.
Features such as xRIP, enhanced bets, God Mode buys and bonus buys all raise the cost or the risk of a session. Decide your budget before you start, keep the stake small relative to it, and use deposit limits and time-outs. If a session stops feeling like entertainment, our Responsible Gambling page lists tools and free support. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over.
Nolimit City publishes the odds of its max wins. Read them as a warning, not an invitation: a 1 in 130 million chance is, for practical purposes, a number you should plan never to hit.
— FAQsino Slots & Studio DeskDark Themes, Over The Limit and Labs
Evolution describes the studio’s themes as “dark, edgy and often provocative”. Settings include a mental institution (Mental), a maximum-security prison (San Quentin), Wild West gunfights (the Tombstone and Deadwood games) and a Soviet labour camp (Remember Gulag). That tone is the studio’s identity, and it will not suit everyone.
In November 2024 the studio added two labels to its game loaders. Over The Limit marks games with “dark themes, risky spins and insane max wins”. The launch list was San Quentin, Mental, Serial, Disturbed, Tombstone RIP, Kenneth Must Die, Deadwood RIP and San Quentin 2: Death Row. Labs marks experimental games that bend slot rules, such as Road Rage, Space Donkey, Nine to Five and Brick Snake 2000. The studio said nothing changes in how it makes games; the labels simply tell you what you are loading.
We found no separate content-rating system beyond the general 18+ rule that applies to all gambling, so the labels are a guide rather than an age rating.
The Remember Gulag Controversy
The best-documented dispute came with Remember Gulag, released on 19 April 2022. According to iGaming Capital’s report of 22 April 2022, the slot review site GMBLRS refused to review it, saying members of its team had relatives deported to the Gulags. Co-founder Jonas Tegman responded on LinkedIn that the game’s anti-war message was “pretty obvious”, and the studio said it would donate all profit from the game’s first month to the National Bank of Ukraine.
We found no regulator action over this or any other of the studio’s themes in the sources we checked.
Nolimit City Demo: Free Play in Our Game Reviews
Every game review on FAQsino includes a free demo where the studio allows it, so our game reviews are the place for Nolimit City demo play. Whether you want a slot demo of Nolimit City’s Blood & Shadow 2 or a first look at Mental, a demo uses play money. Nothing you win has any cash value, and nothing can be withdrawn or moved to a real-money account.
If you have tried the studio’s own fan site from the UK, the Netherlands or Belgium, you may have been turned away: its terms, set by Evolution’s Playin platform, bar residents of those and several other countries from creating an account or playing demo games there.
- Age checks apply. UK-licensed casinos must verify your age before you play a Nolimit City demo slot or any other free game.
- The RTP may differ. A demo does not tell you which RTP version your casino runs; check the real game’s rules as shown above.
- Features vary by market. Evolution notes that bonus buy and jackpot features may not be available in all jurisdictions.
- Demos predict nothing. A lucky run of Nolimit City slots free play says nothing about your next real-money spin, especially on extreme-volatility games.
Each Nolimit City slot demo in our reviews is the right way to learn xNudge, xSplit or xBomb before staking anything. If a demo leaves you wanting to chase real wins, that is a good moment to pause.
Nolimit City Licences and Regulators
Evolution’s licences page lists four licences for the studio. We checked the Maltese and UK entries on the regulators’ own registers.
| Regulator | Licence | Detail | How we checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Malta Gaming Authority | B2B Critical Supply Licence, Type 1 Gaming Services (Casino, Lotteries) | MGA/B2B/299/2015, issued 1 Aug 2018; status Licensed | MGA register and studio footer |
| UK Gambling Commission | Remote operating licence 052097-R-329532-010: Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino) | Nolimit City Limited, account 52097; active since 26 Oct 2018; no regulatory actions recorded | UKGC public register |
| Spillemyndigheden (Denmark) | B2B supplier licence | Effective 1 Jan 2025, valid five years | Studio announcement, Dec 2024 |
| Spelinspektionen (Sweden) | Gaming Software Licence | No licence number published | Evolution licences page |
The MGA register shows the company as licensed under MGA/B2B/299/2015. The UKGC register lists Nolimit City Limited under account 52097, with gambling software and game host (casino) activities active since 26 October 2018, and states that no regulatory actions have been recorded for the business. For what each licence means for players, read our reviews of the Malta Gaming Authority, the UK Gambling Commission, Denmark’s Spillemyndigheden and the Swedish Gambling Authority.
In the US, Evolution announced on 13 June 2024 that the studio’s slots had launched in six states (Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia), starting with Buffalo Hunter. We did not check the state supplier registers ourselves.
In Canada, Gaming Intelligence reported on 23 March 2022 that the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario had approved Nolimit City to offer its games in the province. We did not find that approval on a regulator register, so treat it as reported. The studio has also announced entry into Croatia (August 2024, with SuperSport).
We could not identify which test laboratories certify its games from the official sources we read. At group level, Evolution agreed a ยฃ4.75 million settlement with the UKGC in July 2026 over Evolution content found on unlicensed websites; the coverage we read does not mention this studio.
Awards and Reputation
The one award win we could confirm with the organiser is Best Provider 2020 at the AskGamblers Awards, announced in June 2021. Other awards credited to the studio on review sites could not be verified, so we leave them out.
Reviewers mostly praise the creativity and warn about the risk: AskGamblers’ provider page notes the studio’s heavy and often disturbing topics, and Racing Post’s warns that the wild swings can be rough. Evolution calls it “the industry’s most daring studio”, a sales line but a fair description of the catalogue.
Best Nolimit City Online Slot Sites and Casinos: How to Choose
There is no Nolimit City casino run by the studio. Any Nolimit City online casino is an independent operator that has added the games, and it is the operator that holds your money, picks the RTP version and handles withdrawals. So the best Nolimit City slot sites are not just the ones with the longest list of Nolimit City casino games. Whether you are comparing online slot sites or a casino app, check these first:
- A licence where you live. In the UK that means the UKGC, in Denmark Spillemyndigheden, in Sweden Spelinspektionen. UK players are better protected on UKGC-licensed sites.
- The RTP version. Open Mental, Tombstone RIP or Fire In The Hole and read the rules. A casino running top versions gives more back over time.
- Clear payout terms. Withdrawal limits, timescales and verification rules should be easy to find.
- Safer-gambling tools. Deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion matter more than usual with extreme-volatility slots.
- Feature rules for your market. Bonus buy and some features are switched off in certain countries, and stake caps apply in the UK, so the game you play may differ from a streamer’s.
Rather than hand-pick names, we list every casino we have reviewed that carries the studio’s games in the “Casinos with Nolimit City Games” section at the bottom of this page. It covers Nolimit City online casinos and their Nolimit City casino slots, ranked by FAQsino Trust Score and geo-targeted, so you only see sites relevant to where you are, mobile casinos included.
How to Recognise a Nolimit City Slot
Casino lobbies do not always name the studio. These clues give a Nolimit City slot away:
- Features starting with “x”, such as xNudge, xWays or xSplit, often with a registered or trademark sign.
- A Labs or Over The Limit sticker on the loading screen.
- Nolimit Bonus and Nolimit Booster options in the bet panel, where your market allows them.
- Numbered sequels of dark franchises: Tombstone, San Quentin, Mental, Fire in the Hole, Deadwood and Duck Hunters.
- Odd max wins such as 66,666x, 99,999x or 16,161x.
One caveat: since August 2025 Evolution’s Sneaky Slots studio can also use licensed xMechanics, so an “x” feature alone no longer proves the game is from this studio. Check the loading screen or the game rules.
Nolimit City vs NetEnt and Other Studios
Evolution runs several slot brands side by side. This is how the studio compares, using only what each company publishes:
| Brand | How Evolution positions it | Relevant detail |
|---|---|---|
| Nolimit City | High-volatility games, daring style, complex mechanics | xMechanics; RTP, hit rate, free-spins frequency and max-win odds on its game pages |
| NetEnt | Long-running slot brand, part of Evolution since 2020 | RTP shown on its own game pages |
| Big Time Gaming | Holder of the Megaways trademark | Nolimit City says it never used Megaways |
| Sneaky Slots | Launched in Q3 2025 to fill a gap in game style between Nolimit City and NetEnt | Uses Nolimit City's licensed xMechanics in its games (studio post, 18 Aug 2025) |
| Red Tiger | One of Evolution's RNG slot brands | Not reviewed in detail here |
Outside Evolution, the clearest contrast is Play’n GO. Play’n GO said in May 2025 that it would not produce bonus buy games, while 120 of the studio’s 144 game pages show one. Play’n GO also publishes no RTP on its own game pages, whereas this studio shows RTP, hit rate and, on newer titles, max-win odds. What We Could Not Verify
As of 18 October 2026 we could not confirm:
- Current leadership and size: no official source we read names a current CEO or gives a headcount.
- Test laboratories: not named in the official sources we read.
- Licence numbers for Denmark and Sweden, the US state supplier registers and the reported Ontario approval.
- Which RTP version runs where. Evolution lists lower versions without saying which markets or casinos use them.
- The volatility scale behind the studio’s numeric index.
- The final earn-out total Evolution will pay for the studio.
- Bonus buy availability by country: UK reviewers report it is unavailable there, but we found no official market list.
- Upcoming dates: the studio’s roadmap page said no games were scheduled, while its game pages list four dates.
Our Verdict: Inventive, Open and Risky
Nolimit City is one of the most inventive slot studios we have reviewed and one of the most open about its maths: few studios publish the odds of their own max wins. It is licensed by the MGA and the UKGC, with Denmark and Sweden on top, and since 2024 it has released a new game roughly every two to three weeks.
Nolimit City’s best slots are also built for risk. Extreme volatility, xRIP, bonus buys and themes some find tasteless are part of the package. Learn the xMechanics in our demos, check the RTP version at your casino, set a deposit limit first, and treat the headline max wins as what they are: extremely rare.
Suits: players who want inventive mechanics and understand extreme volatility. Skip it if you want frequent small wins or a steady session.
