MuchBetter is an app-only e-wallet that online casinos can list as a payment option: you pay a casino by typing your phone number and approving the request on your mobile, and casinos that support it pay winnings straight into the wallet. This MuchBetter casino guide explains how deposits and withdrawals really work, what the service costs, who regulates it and where you can still open an account.
Short answer: it is a regulated way to pay casinos that list it, with no wallet fee on the casino leg and one distinctive feature: card top-ups must be marked as gaming or non-gaming, and the two balances stay apart. New sign-ups are closed in the UK, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and Israel. Money in the wallet is safeguarded but not FSCS-protected. And casino acceptance is patchy, especially among UK-licensed sites.

MuchBetter at a glance (checked 19 October 2026)
Reading from the UK? The official help centre currently lists new registrations as unavailable in the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and Israel. Existing customers there can keep using their accounts. No reopening date is given, so treat any list of UK MuchBetter casinos with care.
— FAQsino Payments Desk, checked 19 October 2026What Is MuchBetter? How the E-Wallet Works
MuchBetter is a prepaid, stored-value e-wallet. You load money into it, then spend that balance at merchants, send it to other users by phone number, or, where available, pay with the free virtual Mastercard you can add in the app. The whole service lives in the iOS or Android app.
At casinos, the MuchBetter payment method acts as a middle layer: you give the casino your phone number rather than your bank card, and approve the payment inside the app. (No official statement says exactly what data merchants receive.) Extras include a physical prepaid Mastercard, a ring or key-ring wearable and MB Coins, a small rewards scheme of one coin per 10 units topped up.
The gaming balance: how gambling money is kept apart
This is the wallet’s gambling-specific feature. When you top up with a debit or credit card, the app asks you to mark the money as gaming or non-gaming, and the two sit in separate balances. Your gaming balance can be sent to casinos and betting sites through the wallet payment option; non-gaming money cannot.
Not everything needs a label. According to the help-centre article on the split, gaming-purpose card top-ups, top-ups by non-card methods (bank transfer, voucher and so on), money received from merchants and transfers from other users all count as gaming balance.
In practice, a casino payout lands in the gaming balance, while card money you set aside for bills can’t be sent through the wallet option in a casino cashier. Whether it can still be spent at a casino with the card is not stated, so treat this as a speed bump, not a gambling block.
MuchBetter Supported Countries: Who Can Still Sign Up
There is no official list of supported countries, only a non-serviced list and some location rules. Together they give this picture on 19 October 2026:
- Closed to new customers: the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and Israel, according to the help-centre location article (updated 2 October 2026). Existing accounts keep working.
- Not serviced: 36 entries, including the United States, Norway, Japan, Russia and Iran. The list also covers Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk, and the help centre adds parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
- Clearly served: the European Economic Area apart from Norway, through a separate EEA arrangement, and Canada, with local top-up options documented for Italy, Poland and Brazil.
Two more rules matter at the cashier. The help centre warns customers in India and Japan that the wallet’s registered country must match the country selected on the casino site, or deposits and withdrawals fail; keeping the two the same is a sensible habit anywhere. In Canada, Ontario residents can only pay operators authorised in Ontario’s regulated market, while Alberta gambling payments may be restricted until the merchant’s licensing is verified.
| Region | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands | Existing customers only | No new registrations |
| Israel | Existing customers only | No new registrations |
| EEA (except Norway) | Available | Distributed by QuickPay Ltd (Ireland) for a Cypriot e-money institution |
| Norway | Not available | Not resumed after the 2023 EEA relaunch |
| Canada | Available | Interac top-ups; provincial gambling rules apply |
| United States | Not available | On the non-serviced list |
| Anywhere else | Check the app | No official list; the non-serviced list can change |
Is MuchBetter Safe? Who Runs It and Who Regulates It
For UK customers the wallet is provided by MIR Limited UK Ltd, a London company (Companies House no. 10417552, incorporated 10 October 2016). The FCA’s register file of e-money firms lists it as an Authorised Electronic Money Institution, firm reference number 900704, with that status effective from 6 March 2018. Its terms name Rtekk Holdings Limited, an Isle of Man company, as parent of the MIR Group.
EEA customers deal with a different set-up. Since 2023 the EEA wallet has been distributed by QuickPay Limited in Dublin for Sureswipe E.M.I. PLC, trading as Revsto, a Cypriot e-money institution that the terms describe as supervised by the Central Bank of Cyprus. So “FCA-regulated” is true of the UK service, not of EEA accounts.
For customers of the UK entity, money is kept in a dedicated safeguarding account, separate from the company’s own funds. It is not a bank deposit, earns no interest and, as the safeguarding page states, is not covered by the FSCS. EEA balances fall under the Cypriot institution’s own terms.
Security features in the app
Log-in needs your registered mobile number and passcode, with biometric log-in as an option. A new phone needs an SMS activation code, and the app logs you out after 90 seconds of inactivity. The company also lists encryption, real-time transaction monitoring, instant card freezing and a dynamic CVC on the virtual card.
The 2023 PayrNet episode
In June 2023 the Bank of Lithuania revoked the e-money licence of UAB PayrNet, the wallet’s EEA e-money partner at the time, citing serious breaches that included safeguarding failures. The action was against PayrNet, not a fine on the wallet’s operator, but EEA customers’ balances were caught up in it.
The company says EEA customers could move to QuickPay, and it offered to pay balances from its own funds to those who did and assigned their claim against PayrNet. We found no fines against MIR Limited UK Ltd in the sources we checked.

How to Deposit with MuchBetter at an Online Casino
-
Step 1
Open the casino cashier and check that the wallet is listed for both deposits and withdrawals. Keep the country on your casino account the same as on your wallet.
-
Step 2
Choose MuchBetter, enter the amount and your registered mobile number in international format without the leading 0 (a UK number starts 44, a Canadian one 1).
-
Step 3
Open the app and approve the payment request. The money is taken from your gaming balance.
-
Step 4
If your gaming balance is too low, the request stays pending: top up, then approve it. The funds show in your casino account once the payment is approved.
How a MuchBetter Casino Deposit Works in Practice
Those four steps are the whole MuchBetter casino deposit. The company’s gaming page promises deposits in real time, and once you approve the request the casino side is usually that quick. The transfer itself is free, according to the help centre; any cost sits in your top-up and in any fee the casino charges.
MuchBetter deposit options: topping up the wallet
Top-up methods depend on your country; the app shows only those available to you, each with its fee and minimum.
| Method | Where | Speed | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Debit or credit card | Varies by country | Usually immediate | Mark as gaming or non-gaming; your bank may treat it as a cash advance |
| Bank transfer | Varies by country | Within 48 hours | Friday-afternoon and weekend transfers usually land on Monday |
| Virtual IBAN | EEA, verified users | Near-instant, up to 24 hours | One-time EUR 1 fee |
| MuchBetter Voucher | Italy, Germany, Spain, Canada (in-app voucher map) | Instant | 16-digit code; no bank account needed |
| Ricarica vouchers, PVR cash points | Italy | Not stated | Cash top-ups; up to EUR 5,000 a month |
| Interac e-Transfer | Canada | Usually 5 minutes to 3 hours | Use the one-time reference from the app |
| Boleto | Brazil | Within 48 hours | Brazil only |
| Crypto | Via third-party partner | Not stated | Partner processes EUR only, so conversion may apply |
MuchBetter minimum deposit
There is no single MuchBetter minimum deposit. The app shows a minimum for each top-up method, and every casino sets its own; the table below shows what affiliate checks found. Your casino’s cashier is the figure that counts.
| Figure | What the checks found | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum deposit, Canadian casinos | C$10 to C$20 (16 casinos) | RotoWire Canada, updated 4 Aug 2026 |
| Payout speed listed per casino, Canada | From instant to 3–5 business days | RotoWire Canada |
| Wallet credit after casino approval | 15 minutes to 24 hours | RotoWire Canada FAQ |
| First-withdrawal ID check | Typically 1–3 business days | RotoWire Canada |
| Minimum deposit, four UK casinos (other methods) | GBP 1 to 5 where published | Topend Sports, 2–5 Sep 2026 |
| Minimum withdrawal, same four casinos | GBP 5 to 10 where stated | Topend Sports |
| Request to funds, same four (card or Skrill payouts) | About 70 to 117 hours | Topend Sports |
Do MuchBetter deposits qualify for casino bonuses?
There is no wallet-wide rule: each offer’s terms list the payment methods that qualify, and some name only cards and phone wallets. In Topend Sports’ September 2026 check, one casino’s welcome-offer terms named just Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Read the terms before you pay, because a wallet deposit may not count. For UKGC-licensed casinos, the Gambling Commission announced that bonus wagering requirements would be limited to ten times from 19 January 2026.
MuchBetter Withdrawal: Casino Payout First, Bank Second
This is where the service differs most from phone wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Casinos that use MuchBetter pay out into the wallet itself, not back to a card, and you then make a second withdrawal to your bank. Two stages, two clocks.
- Casino to wallet. Request a payout in the cashier with the wallet selected and your registered phone number. The casino’s review can take up to about 72 hours, says the help centre, and is outside the wallet’s control. Once released, the money reaches a verified account within minutes, if you are within your limits.
- Wallet to bank. In the app, tap the floating button, then Withdraw, and choose the amount and method. Bank transfers are processed Monday to Friday and typically take 3–5 working days, after a manual review that aims for under an hour (up to 24 hours).
You must be verified before any wallet withdrawal, so finish the ID and selfie check early.
| Route | Typical time | Who controls it |
|---|---|---|
| Casino pending period and review | Up to about 72 hours (varies by casino) | The casino |
| Casino release to wallet | Within minutes (verified, within limits) | The wallet |
| Review of a wallet withdrawal | Aim under 1 hour, up to 24 hours | The wallet |
| Wallet to bank account | 3–5 working days | The wallet and your bank |
| Interac e-Transfer or ACH | 3–5 business days | The wallet and your bank |
| Crypto withdrawal | 30–60 minutes after approval | Third-party partner |
| Cash from an ATM with the card | Instant | ATM operator |
MuchBetter withdrawal to bank account: what it costs
MuchBetter withdrawal fees to a bank depend on method and country. They are not listed in the fee page’s text: the help centre points to the page’s country drop-down and to the app, which shows the fee before you confirm. Receiving a casino payout is free. A different bank currency adds conversion: 0.99% for USD, EUR and GBP pairs, or for CAD the xe.com mid-market rate plus “a small conversion margin”.
Deposits vs withdrawals: a reality check
Not every casino that accepts MuchBetter for deposits pays out to it. RotoWire’s review of 16 Canadian casinos noted that a few support deposits only. UK acceptance looks thin too: a Topend Sports test of four UK casinos (2–5 September 2026) found the wallet at none of them.
Casinos also apply their own rules: identity checks before the first payout, a pending period and an own-name rule. In the same Topend Sports check, all four casinos limited payments to methods in the player’s own name, and one returned withdrawals to the deposit method, so use only your own wallet. All of this shapes how fast a MuchBetter casino withdrawal feels. Our fast withdrawal casinos guide explains what to look for.
MuchBetter Fees and Limits: What You Actually Pay
The official fee page, checked on 19 October 2026, shows no effective date and calls the app the most accurate source. Treat these figures as a snapshot and check the app first.
| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| Opening the account, annual fee | Free |
| Paying a casino, receiving a casino payout | Free |
| Sending or receiving money between users | Free |
| Top-ups and wallet withdrawals | Varies by method and country; shown in the app |
| Currency conversion | 0.99% for USD/EUR/GBP pairs; other currencies vary |
| Virtual card | Free |
| Physical card | GBP 9.99 / EUR 10.99 / USD 12.99 / PLN 55 |
| Card at a gaming or gambling merchant | 2% |
| ATM withdrawal | 0.99% (plus any ATM operator fee) |
| Virtual IBAN (EEA only) | EUR 1, one-time |
| Chargeback you start on a card top-up | GBP 30 |
| Inactivity (after 12 months) | USD 5 or equivalent per month |
Worked example: EUR 100 in, EUR 250 out
Say you live in Ireland, hold a EUR wallet and top up EUR 100 by bank transfer (plus any top-up fee the app shows). It counts as gaming balance automatically. You fund a casino with MuchBetter: no wallet fee. The casino pays EUR 250 back: free again. You move EUR 250 to your bank: the fee shown in the app applies.
Pay the casino with the Mastercard instead and the same EUR 100 costs EUR 2 (2%); a EUR-to-GBP conversion adds about EUR 0.99. One currency via the wallet option is cheapest.
Wallet limits and verification levels
Wallet limits depend on your verification level, country and currency, and you can see yours in the app under Account, then Limits. The help centre says limits for unverified accounts are relatively low and rise significantly after ID verification, but no numbers are published. Default card limits for EEA customers are public: up to 300 a day at ATMs (five transactions) and up to 4,500 a day at points of sale, in local currency.
The MuchBetter Mastercard at Casinos
Where the card programme is offered (the UK and EEA, plus Canada), verified users can create a free virtual prepaid Mastercard in the app’s Cards section and order a physical card, which needs proof of address and takes about 10–20 days to arrive. It works wherever Mastercard does, except at financial-sector merchants such as wire services.
For gambling, the card is usually the worse choice: it costs 2% at a gaming or gambling merchant, while paying the same casino through the wallet option is free.
MuchBetter Sports Betting and Bookmakers
Everything above applies to sports betting with MuchBetter too. To the wallet, MuchBetter sportsbooks, bookmakers and other betting sites that accept MuchBetter are just more gaming merchants: pick the wallet in the cashier, approve in the app, and the stake comes from your gaming balance. Winnings come back the same way, so online betting with MuchBetter has the same two-stage payout.
Each MuchBetter betting site sets its own rules, and old trade-press deals say nothing about today’s MuchBetter bookmakers. Whether you compare MuchBetter online betting sites, betting sites that use MuchBetter or bookmakers that accept MuchBetter, check for a licence in your country (in Ontario, an Ontario-authorised operator), the wallet in both the deposit and withdrawal tabs, and whether wallet deposits count towards free-bet offers.
How to Choose MuchBetter Casinos You Can Trust
Searches for top MuchBetter casinos or top MuchBetter casino sites bring up plenty of ranked lists, and several we surveyed put offshore brands first. Whatever MuchBetter gambling sites you consider, run these checks on any online casino sites that accept MuchBetter.
The Top 5 Casinos Accepting MuchBetter panel directly below this guide does the filtering for you: it ranks online casinos that accept MuchBetter deposits by FAQsino Trust Score and adjusts to the country you visit from. For more, browse our casino reviews, and check the bonus terms before claiming an offer with a wallet deposit.
If you are in the UK and already hold an account, stick to casinos licensed by the UK Gambling Commission; UK players are better protected on UKGC-licensed sites. Since 14 April 2020 those operators may not accept gambling on credit cards, and the Commission’s guidance asks them to check that e-wallet money was not loaded from one. The wallet allows credit-card top-ups in general and we found no statement on how it applies that rule, so don’t fund UK gambling that way.
Gambling Blocks, Limits and Self-Control
We checked the official site and the full list of 187 help-centre articles for a gambling block, a deposit limit or a self-exclusion option, and found none. A Financial Ombudsman Service decision from September 2025 records that the account “can’t be restricted to prevent gambling activity”. In that case the company closed the account of a customer who said he had blocked himself from all UK gambling sites, and returned his balance; his complaint was not upheld.
So if you are gambling online with MuchBetter, the controls you have are indirect:
- The gaming balance split. Mark card top-ups as non-gaming and that money cannot be sent to a casino through the wallet option (the help centre is silent on card payments to gambling sites).
- Card freeze and wearable limits, both set in the app.
- Your bank’s gambling block. If your bank offers one, it may stop card top-ups coded as gaming, but it is unlikely to touch money already in the wallet, or top-ups made another way.
- Casino tools and national schemes. Deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion at the casino, plus GAMSTOP in the UK or your country’s own register.
- Closing the account. Permanent closure is in the app under Account; for a temporary closure, contact support.
If gambling stops being fun, our responsible gambling page lists support services and practical tools.
Why Your MuchBetter Deposit Failed at a Casino
Most failed payments at online casinos with MuchBetter have one of a few causes.
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet missing from the cashier | The casino has not enabled it, or not for your location | Ask the casino or choose another method |
| Payment stuck as pending | Gaming balance too low | Top up, then approve in the app |
| Phone number rejected | Wrong number format | Use international format without the leading 0 |
| Deposit or payout refused | Wallet country may differ from casino account country (documented in India and Japan) | Match the country on both accounts |
| Card top-up declined | Your bank blocks gaming-coded card payments (MCC 7995) | Use a voucher, bank transfer or another method |
| Cannot pay the casino | Money sits in the non-gaming balance | Top up with the gaming option |
| No withdrawal method in the app | Not available in your region, or account unverified | Complete verification; check methods shown |
| Locked out after failed log-ins | Security lock of up to 24 hours | Wait, or use Forgot Passcode |
How to Use MuchBetter: Set-Up and Verification
-
Step 1
Download the app from the App Store or Google Play, tap Sign Up, enter your mobile number and accept the terms and privacy policy.
-
Step 2
Create a 4-digit PIN and enter the 6-digit code sent to you by SMS.
-
Step 3
Add your name, date of birth, address and wallet currency. Pick your local currency to avoid conversion fees, because changing it later needs support.
-
Step 4
Tap Verify me, scan both sides of your ID and take a selfie. The in-app check often finishes within about 60 minutes, verification can take up to 24 hours, and you need it before you can withdraw.
-
Step 5
Top up, choosing gaming if the money is meant for casinos or betting, and you are ready to pay.
MuchBetter login and lost access
There is no MuchBetter login on a website or PC. You sign in to the app with your mobile number and passcode (or biometrics), and a new phone needs an SMS activation code. Forgot your passcode? Tap Forgot Passcode; if that fails, email support with a photo of yourself holding your ID, and expect a reply within about 48 hours. Since no web log-in exists, treat any page offering one as suspicious. The app-only design suits mobile casinos.
MuchBetter vs Trustly, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Revolut
Each method in our current payment reviews solves a different problem.
| Method | What it is | Where casino winnings go | Gambling block |
|---|---|---|---|
| MuchBetter | Stored-value e-wallet | Into the wallet, then to your bank | None found |
| Trustly | Pay-by-bank service | Your bank account, where the casino offers it | Finland only |
| Apple Pay | Card stored in your phone wallet | Usually to the card or a bank account | Depends on your bank |
| Google Pay | Card stored in your phone wallet | Commonly reported as deposit-only | Depends on your bank |
| Revolut | App-based account with cards | Back to the Revolut account or card, per casino | Opt-in block on card payments |
In short: Trustly is simplest for money moving straight between bank and casino, and Revolut suits people who want an everyday account with a card gambling block. The wallet is strongest when you want a separate gambling pot and a payout route that does not depend on your card. See more on our payment methods hub and e-wallets page.
What We Could Not Verify
- A full country and currency list. The company publishes neither. We list GBP, EUR, USD, PLN and CAD because official pages name them.
- Top-up fees, bank-withdrawal fees and wallet limits in numbers. These are shown only in the app or the fee page’s country selector, not as published figures.
- Whether UK sign-ups will reopen. The help centre gives no date or reason.
- Current ownership. Investcorp announced in September 2021 that it had acquired MIR Limited’s business, yet the current terms name Rtekk Holdings Limited as group parent. The sources do not reconcile the two.
- How the UK credit-card rule is applied to wallet top-ups.
- The Cypriot register entry for Sureswipe E.M.I. PLC, which we did not check directly.
Final Take: Worth It for Casino Payments?
If you live in the EEA (outside Norway) or Canada and your casino lists it for deposits and withdrawals, it is worth a look. Casino payments are free on the wallet’s side, winnings arrive within minutes of release, and the gaming balance is a genuinely useful way to ring-fence what you play with.
For online gambling using MuchBetter, the weak points are just as clear: no FSCS cover, top-up and bank-withdrawal fees you only see in the app, no gambling block that we could find, a polarised customer record (Trustpilot showed 2.3 out of 5 from 3,963 reviews on 19 October 2026) and no new sign-ups in the UK.
